Our Love
Story
(Hint: it didn’t start with fireworks… but it turned out pretty spectacular.)
It all began in September 2016 in Indonesia. A Hungarian girl, Lilla, had just landed in Jakarta that July. A Colombian guy, David, was there on a mission. Sparks didn’t exactly fly at first sight, it was more like a friendly hangout. Then came the fateful dinner, where David casually asked to split the bill.
Lilla’s inner monologue? “Whatever, I’ll never see this guy again.”

Plot twist: she did.
David returned to Jakarta in November, still with that easygoing attitude, and thought, “Why not meet up with Lilla again?” Lilla, slightly bored and mildly intrigued, figured, “Why not? He’s making the effort.”
That’s when things shifted. She noticed his warmth, his cheer, his kindness. And even though he was stationed on another island for work shortly after, they kept texting.
Then came a spontaneous weekend trip to Yogyakarta. Just for fun. No pressure. Lilla thought again, “Let’s enjoy it, probably the last time I’ll see him anyway.”
Spoiler: it wasn’t.
What followed was an eight-year adventure. Five years of long-distance love, four years living together in Jakarta, and countless flights, messages, and reunions across continents, from Bogotá to Sri Lanka, Italy to Malaysia. They met each other’s families, explored new cultures, and built a life filled with laughter, food, and passport stamps.
And finally, in India, David asked The Question.
This time, Lilla didn’t think “Whatever". Because somehow, this guy just kept showing up.
And now, they’re saying forever.

Your presence is the greatest gift we could ask for.
If you would like to honour us with a contribution, a monetary gift would be most appreciated. As we’ve recently bought our first home, we would love to use your generosity to help us furnish and decorate it into a place we can truly call our own.

During the evening, we’ll also keep a Hungarian tradition alive with a bridal dance, where guests can share a dance with the bride and contribute a symbolic gift if they wish. Of course, this is entirely optional, your love and presence are more than enough.
